While one Salman Ahmad, kinpin of the gang, was arrested from Lucknow, Subhash Tiwari and Satiram Nishad were arrested from Basti, police said.
The arrests were made after CBI nabbed some persons in Mumbai, who were using illegal software in the name of T system software for getting the Tatkal tickets from the IRCTC website.
The gang used to fill 10-15 reservation forms at a time using this software without opening IRCTC site and used to upload them on the site getting the tickets with 2-3 minutes.
While on the railway counter time taken for getting a ticket is 2-3 minutes, this gang used to get 10-15 tickets with this time due to which common man could not get railway tickets, they said.
The software, the accused told STF, was provided on their laptop by one Kulveer Singh from Ahmadabad internet by charging Rs 10 thousand per month. On non-payment of this amount Singh used to deactivate the software.
The police is taking the three on transit remand to Mumbai.
