3 persons including 2 CRPF personnel nabbed with liquor in Bihar

Three persons including two CRPF personnel were arrested after liquor bottles were found in their possession during raids in different places of Dehri town of Bihar's Rohtas district late last night, police said on Saturday.

GRP SHO Sitaram Choudhary said that two CRPF personnel were arrested along with liquor bottles, during a search operation at platform number six of Dehri railway station late last night.

The two CRPF personnel have been identified as Sunil Kumar and Mukesh Kumar, Choudhary said.

While 24 bottles of 'rum' were found from Sunil Kumar's possession five were found from Mukesh possession along with three other bottles of wine.

Both security personnel, posted in Palamu district of Jharkhand, had boarded the Barwadih Dehri passenger train on Friday, SHO said.

Sunil is the resident of Gajipur district in Uttar Pradesh while Mukesh is from Rohtas district, he said.

Meanwhile police arrested one Harendra Kumar, a resident of Mohan Bigaha of Dehri town and seized 32 packets of country made liquor, Choudhary said adding that he had brought it to sell them in Bihar.

There was complete prohibition in the state since April 1.

All the three persons, who have been booked under the New Excise Act, were sent to jail, SHO said.
