3 persons injured as oil tankers catch fire

Three persons today received burn injuries when two oil tankers caught fire at Kanksa in Burdwan district, a police officer said.
The flames engulfed after one empty oil tanker exploded while welding work was on and spread to the nearby parked tanker, the officer said.
Three fire tenders from WBFFS and one from the nearby Panagarh defence base with foam were pressed into service to douse the flames which took about an hour, the officer said.
Of the three injured, one was shifted to Durgapur Sub-divisional hospital in serious condition, the officer added.
