3 teachers suspended for misappropriation of funds in Assam

The Hailakandi district administration in Assam has placed three head teachers under suspension for misappropriation of funds meant to procure school uniforms in Katlicherra Education Block, an official release said today.

The suspension order has been issued following an inquiry report submitted by Block Accountant Arpita Dey and endorsed by Block Elementary Education Officer, on April 27, it said.

"Prima facie evidence is established that the said teachers have committed offences that need to be dealt urgently. And considering the exigency and gravity of the offences, they are placed under suspension pending drawl of departmental proceedings," said an official order issued on Friday.

The order prohibits the incumbents from leaving the headquarters without prior permission of the authorities concerned, the release said.

The concerned schools are Dholai Krishnatilla LP School, Dholai Natun Tilla LP School and 693 Tilagram LP School, it added.
