34 tehsils in Nashik division getting water by tankers

Nashik divisional commissioner Eknath Davle today informed that 505 tankers were providing water to 34 tehsils hit by water scarcity in the five districts in the division.
He was speaking at a meeting chaired by the state Forest and Rehabilitation minister Patangrao Kadam for review of the situation in the wake of delayed monsoon.
The government had given Rs 21.28 crore in grants, he said.
Officials from five districts in Nashik division -- Nashik, Jalgaon, Dhule, Nandurbar and Ahmednagar -- attended the meeting. Revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat was also present.
