35 pistols meant for criminals seized, four arrested

Delhi Police today claimed to have busted two inter-state gangs supplying illegal firearms with the arrest of four persons.
Police also seized 35 semi-automatic pistols, which were to be distributed to various criminal gangs operating in and around the national capital.
Four accused, arrested by Special Cell in two different operations, had been supplying pistols and firearms to the criminals.
Police said that seized semi-automatic pistols were manufactured in Khargone and Barwani of Madhya Pradesh.
In the first operation, police on December 14 arrested one Chetendra from Commonwealth Games Village acting on a tip-off and recovered 25 sophisticated pistols which were being carried in a bag.

"Chetendra had procured these weapons from Khargone of Madhya Pradesh, which is famous as a gun den. Along with his contacts in Aligarh, which is a major hub of suppliers of arms and ammunition to the criminals of Delhi-NCR, he was collecting orders from clients and once a consignment sized order was finalized, he used to travel to Khargone to collect the consignment," said a senior police official.

In the second operation, police have arrested three other persons, all members of inter-state syndicates of illegal firearm and recovered 10 pistols from their possession.
"On December 24, police received a tip-off that a consignment of illegal firearms weapons will be supplied near Sarai Kale Khan ISBT. Police laid a trap and arrested three accused - Ishtyaq (25), Salamuddin (21) and Bhila (42)- all residents of UP and Madhya Pradesh," said another senior police official.

During investigation, it was revealed that accused Bhila Singh has been working for one Rajpal who is a major supplier of illegal firearms to Delhi and NCR.
