Nilesh Jondhale was in the parking lot of his apartment after closing his shop last night, when two assailants fired several rounds of bullets at him, leaving him seriously injured, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Vijay Chavan said.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, he said, adding he is recuperating.
The reason beind the attack is yet to be ascertained, he said.
The police have sealed all exit points to trace the attackers, and a special police squad of local crime branch has been pressed into service, he said.
