The number of mobile connections in the city has reached 4.26 crore against its population of around 1.70 crore, implying that on an average every Delhiite has more than two phones.
The number was 4.04 crore in 2012-13, which has increased by 21 lakh to reach 4.26 crore in 2013-14.
The number of mobile connections in the entire country is estimated to be more than 93 crore. In 2009-2010, the number of connections in Delhi was 2.82 crore.
The figures have been published in the Delhi Statistical Handbook 2014.
