Works on 4,804 kms roads of 7,600 kms have been completed uptil now, Maharashtra Rural Development Pankaja Munde said here today.
She said the rest of works are underway.
The minister was speaking to reporters after chairing a review meeting on the Chief Minister Rural Roads Scheme (CMRRS) at Sahyadri guesthouse here.
"Work on the remaining 1794 kms of roads is in progress. Similarly, inspection of roads through a private agency has revealed that the work of 96.33 per cent of the roads was of good quality," the minister said.
She said the contractors have been instructed to improve the condition of 2.67 per cent of the roads where quality of work was not up to the mark.
Munde directed executive engineers to use plastic waste in these road works and plant trees on either sides of the roads.
