According to police, one Afrin, in a complaint yesterday, alleged that her husband Amir Khan, father-in-law Sharif khan, mother-in-law Seema and brother-in-law Imran had been making dowry demands since her marriage and had also threatened to kill her.
A case under Domestic Violence Act, 2005, and Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961, has been lodged in this regard, they said.
In another case, a local named Gaurav alleged that he was beaten up and robbed of Rs 13,000 by a group of seven persons. A case has been lodged and further investigation is underway, police said.
