The mayor of a Moldovan village today said four people have died after a Romanian medical helicopter crashed in Moldova.
Iurie Balanuta, the mayor of Haragas, said the helicopter crashed this afternoon in foggy weather near woods on the edge of the village in southern Moldova.
A spokesman for Romania's SMURD emergency service, Gheorghe Hanganu, said the helicopter was transporting a sick person from the area to a hospital in the Moldova capital of Chisinau.
Romania has an agreement to transport emergency medical cases in Moldova.
