The incident occurred last night when the jeep carrying members of a marriage party was on way back to Almora late last night, they said.
The driver lost control near Kasan bend on Didihat road about 40 km from the district headquarters, following which the vehicle then fell into a 300 metre deep gorge, killing four people on the spot, police said.
The injured were rushed to Base hospital, Almora, where they are under treatment.
