Bidar, Chikkaballapura, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu have been covered under the extension, which is part of series of 2nd GenerationReforms Agenda, named ESIC 2.0'.
A notification in this regard was issued on August 9, a release from the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Corporation office here said today.
The scheme was earlier extended to 26 revenue districts with effect from May 1, 2016, it said, adding that with this, the ESI Scheme now covers entire Karnataka.
In the extended areas, medical arrangement for the time being is provided through state government primary health centres, community health centres and district hospitals, it added.
The benefits available under the scheme to the employees include cash benefits and non-cash benefit (medical care).
