Superintendent of Police Ranjan Bhuyan said, the four, suspected to be 'carriers' of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland, were travelling in two vehicles from Dimapur in Nagaland when they were intercepted by an Assam Police team at Halftiniali.
The four - identified as Bipul Mondal, Rayan Burman, Mannan Ali and Rahul Mech - were heading towards Runikhata when they were stopped at around 5 30 pm.
A large consignment of arms - including M-16 rifle, five M-16 magazines, 100 rounds of M-16 ammunition, ten grenade shells, one magazine pouch, camouflaged uniform and four mobile handsets - were seized from the vehicles.
