Four Tamil Nadu fishermen suffered minor injuries when they were attacked allegedly by Sri Lankan naval personnel off Katchathivu islet.
The naval personnel took away their cellphones and GPS equipment and also damaged nets of 10 other boats, P Sesuraja, Fishermen's Association leader said.
The fishermen, part of a group of 3,000 who had put out to sea from here last night, returned without any catch after the navy officers threatened them against fishing in the island nation's territorial waters, he said.
