North Goa district and sessions court judge Irshad Agha remanded Additional North District Collector Sabaji Shetye in police custody.
The Anti Corruption Branch (ACB), which had arrested Shetye yesterday, had filed a plea in the court seeking his custody for interrogation.
"The court granted five days police custody to Shetye. But he is currently admitted in a state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital after he complained of chest pain," a senior ACB official said.
The ACB had trapped Shetye yesterday while accepting bribe of Rs 25,000 to give no objection certificate to an applicant for storing explosives.
