5 killed in separate lightning incidents in Odisha

At least five persons including three women were killed and six others injured in separate lightning incidents in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district today, police said.
Two persons died and five others sustained burn injuries as lightning struck when they had taken shelter under a tree to escape rains at Badapeta under Baripada Sadar police station limits.
In another lightning incident at Nayabrajanandan village under Badasahi area, a woman labourer engaged in construction work was killed and another injured, they said.
A tribal woman was killed outside a house when lightning struck at Vudurbani village under Udala police station jurisdiction.
Similarly, lightning claimed the life of a woman at Sarbana village under Kaptipada area, police said.
