The bomber attacked the police club, killing five conscripts and wounding ten others, including five civilians, in the provincial capital El-Arish, officials said.
The blast in the residential area completely demolished the facade of the club and also a number of nearby cars, they said.
The security forces cordoned off the area and the injured were taken to the hospital. Some of the injured are critical, medical officials said.
Killings of security personnel by militants are frequent in North Sinai as the area has witnessed many violent attacks since the January, 2011 revolution that toppled ex-president Hosni Mubarak, who ruled for nearly three decades.
The attacks targeting police and military increased after the ouster of Islamist president Mohamed Morsi in 2013 by the military following massive protests against his rule.
Over 600 security personnel have been reported killed since then.
