Station House Officer of Sachivalay police station, under which CM's residence comes, a Sergeant Major of police line, two Sub Inspectors and one Assistant Sub-Inspector have been put under suspension on the charge of dereliction of duty, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Manu Maharaj told PTI.
The suspension was ordered by Patna zone Inspector General of Police N H Khan on the basis of the report of the SSP.
Despite deployment, many policemen were not present on duty at the time to prevent the ugly incident.
Some supporters of Nitish Kumar who had gathered there as National Executive committee was in progress at that time had latter chased Yadav's supporters after a minor clash.
Meanwhile, Patna police has arrested more than a dozen after identifying them from CCTV cameras installed at the venue which also houses Raj Bhawan.
During interrogation they admitted "being hired on payment" by two notorious Bikers gang leaders Vinod Kumar and Rahul Kumar for "a pre-planned violence" that day, Maharaj said.
Police had registered a case at Schivalay police station regarding the incident on the statement of a magistrate on duty at the venue that day and made arrest after identifying them from CCTV camera footage.
