The fire broke out yesterday around 9 AM in Sajidhera Marata slum area of ward number 45 of Kishorepura police station of Kota city, police said.
The fire could be fully controlled in around five hours, they added.
A considerable loss of cash and household items is estimated, however, no loss of life or injury was reported.
The residents of the slum have been temporarily shifted to a nearby community hall with the enough food having been provided by the various organisations following the visit the local MP Om Birla. He assured all possible assistance from the government to the victims.
The actual reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained, they said.
