500 cartons of illegal liquor seized, 2 arrested

Two persons were arrested after 500 cartons of illicit liquor, worth lakhs were seized in Uttar Pradesh's Muzaffarnagar district, the police said today.

A police team intercepted the truck last night at a checkpoint near Lalu Kheri village, and seized the illicit liquor, a police official said.

The two accused -- Khushprit and Bal Kiran -- have confessed to smuggling the liquor from Haryana through the Khatima-Panipat highway, the official added.
