52 task force teams to check liquor menace during HP polls

As many as 52 task force teams have been formed and a control room has been set up in Himachal Pradesh to crackdown on illegal liquor during the upcoming state Assembly polls.
A special meeting of field staff of the Excise and Taxation Department, including the Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioners and Deputy Excise Taxation Commissioners, was held here on September 27 and strict instructions were issued in this regard, additional chief secretary (Excise and Taxation) said.
"The field functionaries were further directed to ensure strict compliance of the directions and conduct intensive campaign to crackdown on liquor smugglers and bit bootleggers and also conduct intensive checking, especially on inter-state borders," he said.
