55 dispensaries to be turned into 'Fever and Dengue' clinics

To tackle the rising number of dengue cases in the national capital, the Delhi government today ordered to convert 55 government-run dispensaries into 'Fever and Dengue Clinics' from Monday.
Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain has directed these clinics to remain functional from 7 am to 9 pm on all the days, including Sundays and holidays, till further orders.
"Based on the feedback about practical functioning of these 55 clinics, the government plans to increase the number of fever clinics in Delhi to deal with the current situation in the national capital.
"The staff at these clinics will be deputed in double shifts so that check-ups of people coming here with fever and suspected dengue complaints are done without any delay. These clinics will function at Delhi government-run dispensaries," Jain said.

The Delhi government has 450 dispensaries across Delhi, out of which 55 dispensaries have been converted into fever and dengue clinics to treat more patients. The clinics are located in those areas which are most affected.
"The minister has ordered that before closing the clinic everyday, doctors and paramedic staff will ensure that those in need of hospitalisation will be shifted to nearest hospitals and others will be sent back home after complete check-ups and relevant medical advice," a senior officer said.
The decision to convert the dispensaries into such clinics was taken to ensure treatment to more dengue and fever patients, the officer said, adding that these newly-converted clinics will also make arrangements for counselling of patients regarding vector-borne diseases.
