The accused called the girl, who lives in his neighbourhood, to his house when he was alone by offering her sweets and chocolate and allegedly raped her last evening, Bhandup police station's senior inspector P R Chavan said.
The people living in nearby hutments heard the girl crying following which they rushed to the accused's house and nabbed him, he said.
Subsequently, the accused was arrested last night, he said.
"A medical test of the girl has been conducted and its report is awaited," Chavan said.
