A total of 580 kms of roads were constructed in the past four years in the insurgency-hit regions of Chhattisgarh, a senior officer said here.
Between 2011 and 2014, 18 roads were constructed in the Naxal-affected areas, the officials informed at a review meeting chaired by chief secretary Vivek Dhand yesterday.
During the meeting Dhand directed that construction of all the 22 planned roads, their length adding up to 982 km, in the the Naxal-hit regions should be completed within the prescribed time.
Construction of roads in the insurgency-hit areas would get a priority, Dhand said.
Senior administrative, police and forest officials should jointly review the development of road work, he added.
