The betting racket was active today on the eve of India-Australia World Cup match. 14 mobile phones and two laptops were seized from them, DC (DD) Bidhanagar Police commissionerate Kankar Prasad Bauri said.
Acting on a tip-off, the police first raided a house in the Lake town-Bangur area and arreted one person last night. After interrogating him, the police arrested five more from the Burrabazar area of Kolkata.
"We are investigating whether this inter-state betting racket has any link with international betting racket," he said.
