A supporter of SP candidate lodged an FIR against Congress MLA and his supporters, while another report has been filed against the ruling party candidate and his aides, SP V K Dixit said.
He said both the parties have mentioned Gilaula village as the place of occurrence of the incident.
Polling for Bahraich-Shravasti Council seat would be held on July 27. The bye-election was necessitated following resignation of MLC Madhuri Verma, who quit after being elected to the Assembly on Congress ticket.
