Six quintals of adulterated 'mawa' (sweet maker) were seized from a cold storage unit here, officials said Tuesday.

The food department officials raided the unit on Monday and found that the contaminated dough was being used to prepare sweets ahead of the festive season.

Other food samples collected from the unit have been sent for examination, Food Safety Officer Vinit Kumar said.

Action will be taken against the wrongdoers after the reports arrive, he said.
