65 cartons of liquor seized in poll-bound UP

Police today claimed to have seized 65 cartons of liquor at Dadheru Khurd village here in the run up to the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls.
As part of the drive against liquor smuggling, the police team raided several places in the district following which 65 cartons of liquor were seized at Dadheru Khurd village under Charthawal police station area, district excise officer A K Singh said.
A case has been registered against unidentified culprits, he said.
The first phase of the state Assembly polls are scheduled to begin from February 11.
