7 arrested on charges of cheating and forgery in Haryana

A case of cheating and forgery has been registered against seven persons, including a woman, for making insurance policies of persons who have already died and later claiming benefits from a well-known private insurance company, police said.
Police today said that the accused allegedly claimed the death benefits under various life insurance policies of the company.
The case was registered yesterday on the order of a court, a spokesperson of police department said here today.
On a complaint by Anil K Narayan, State Operations Manager, Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance Company Ltd, Regional Office, Chandigarh, the police here registered a case under Sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust), 467 (forgery), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) and 120-B of IPC against the accused.
Those booked include mastermind Anil Kumar of Mullapur village (Hisar) and Rajbala, resident of village Rupana Bishnoian, district Sirsa.
The police spokesperson said Anil Kumar along with other members of the gang made various insurance policies of those persons who already died.
The gang used to make their life insurance through online system of the insurance company by submitting forged documents and giving false information and claimed the death benefits later on worth thousands of rupees.
No arrest has been made so far, police said, adding further investigations were on.
