7 bookies arrested in Ludhiana

Seven bookies have been arrested here while they were allegedly placing bets on Friday's India-South Africa World Cup T-20 semi final match played in Bangladesh.
Acting on a secret information, police raided a house at Jamalpur Chowk here last night and caught the accused red handed, Ludhiana Additional Commissioner of Police M S Dhesi told reporters.
Police also seized a laptop, 16 mobile phones and cash from them.
Further questioning of the accused was going on, he said.
