Seven persons were killed and eight others injured when an old building collapsed at Zakir Hussain slum area in Darjeeling Hills.
DM Anurag Srivastava said while bodies of six were brought out from the debris last night, another succumbed at hospital today.
Eight others were rescued and treated at hospital, he said.
The four-storeyed building collapsed at about 11.30 PM last night and apart from fire brigade and locals, the authorities sought the help of the Army.
Rescue work was called off after the authorities presumed there was no more trapped inside but the wreckage was being cleaned up.
