7 doctors booked over minor girl's death in Goa

Seven doctors attached to a private hospital have been booked for alleged negligence leading to the death of an eight-year-old girl in South Goa, police said today.
The girl was admitted to the private hospital on November 12 from where her parents shifted her to the state-run Goa Medical College and Hospital on December 21 in a critical condition, Cuncolim police said.
The minor died during treatment yesterday following which Dr M P Silveira of the state-run hospital lodged a complaint alleging medical negligence by the seven doctors, they said.
On the basis of the complaint, the doctors, including administrator of the hospital, were yesterday booked under section 304A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC, police said.
The nature of the girl's ailment was not disclosed.
