730 flood-hit people sent home from Kashmir Valley

As many as 730 people, including 390 migrant labourers, have been sent home from Kashmir Valley via Anantnag-Simthantop-Kishtwar Road in the Jammu region.
A total of 340 flood-hit victims of erstwhile Doda district and 390 migrant labourers from different parts of the country have been rescued from Srinagar city and sent back to their homes via Anantnag-Simthantop-Kishtwar road, a spokesman said.
The labourers include 31 from Nepal.
The solitary link to Kashmir Valley via Sinthan Top now has been restored and trucks of relief materials were also sent to Srinagar through it, the spokesman said.
The trucks were loaded with all kinds of essential commodities including baby food, 1000 blankets, LPG cylinders, kerosene, milk, medicine and water, he said.
Relief camps have been established in Kishtwar town, Chatroo and Sinthan Top.
Rescue taskforce teams comprising district officers have been deputed to Srinagar for identification and rescue of the Kishtwar-based flood victims and their transportation back to Kishtwar, the spokesman said.
