No new transport vehicles will be registered in the state unless it is fitted with a speed governor of the prescribed standard, a state transport department spokesman said here today.
A notification had also been issued by the department regarding installation of speed governors in vehicles and also to check tampering with the speed governors by vehicles operators and other malpractices.
He said in case of already registered vehicles, the certificate of fitness would not be renewed unless the vehicle was fitted with a speed governor.
