8 fishermen stranded in sea with sinking boat rescued

Eight fishermen, who were stranded in mid-sea after their boat hit a rock and sank, were rescued today, a senior fisheries department official said.
"The eight fishermen were stranded in mid-sea after the incident and were rescued by fishermen in another boat and brought them ashore," Alexander, Inspector of fisheries Department department, Pamban, said.
The boat which sank was estimated to be worth around Rs 20 lakh, he said.
