8 killed as car collides with bus

Eight members of a wedding party were today killed and five others injured when a vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a bus near Lakshipara tea estate in Jalpaiguri district, police said.
The mishap occurred when the multi utility vehicle (MUV), on its way to Banarhat from a marriage reception at Nagrakata, collided head-on with the bus this morning.
Eight occupants of the MUV, including its driver, died on the spot, while five others were injured, they said.
The injured included three bus passengers.
All the five injured were referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital.
