8 more die of encephalitis

Eight patients have died due to encephalitis in the past two days, a senior health official said here today.
As many as 30 new patients were also admitted to different hospitals here in the past two days.
Additional Director (Health) D N Tripathi said while three patients were from Gorakhpur and one each was from Maharajganj, Basti, Kushinagar, Ghazipur and Mau.
He said that with the eight more deaths, total 620 people have died due to disease this year.
The official said with 30 new patients, the total number of patients affected by the disease in the region has reached 3,047.
