8-year-old raped by grandfather, uncle for 8 months in UP

A minor girl was allegedly raped by her grandfather and step-uncle over the period of 8 months in Kanpur, police here said today.
The 8-year-old girl disclosed the incident to her father when she met him in Muradnagar earlier this month at a marriage function.
A case was registered on the basis of the complaint filed by the minor's father, they said.
The girl was living with her paternal grandparents in Kanpur since this April. The grandfather and his step-son raped the minor repeatedly for over the period of eight months. She was also forced to consume certain medicinal pills on regular basis by them, the complaint stated.

The minor had earlier told to her grandmother about the gangrape, but the latter did not take any action against the culprits, police said.
Following the complaint, police sent the victim for medical examination, and registered a case against the duo who were absconding.
The hunt is on to nab the duo, police said.
