About 80 per cent of Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendras in Rajasthan have been constructed and many of them are operational, the government said today.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said this in the Legislative Assembly, but admitted that some of the Kendras could not be opened due to delay in Internet connectivity.
He assured the House that this problem would be addressed properly so that people in rural area are benefited by the Kendras.
During Question Hour, BJP MLA Kiran Maheshwari raised the issue of non-availability of services related with revenue and agriculture department in seva kendras in Rajsamand district.
She also alleged that there were irregularities in the construction of the kendras.
In his reply, Rural Development Minister Mahendrajeet Singh Malvia claimed that Rajasthan has done a remarkable progress in construction of Seva Kendras and 80 per cent work has been completed.
Intervening in the matter, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said there was no irregularity and the Kendras, which could not be opened due to lack of connectivity, will be opened soon.
The Opposition also tried to corner the government by raising the issue of alleged irregularities in scholarship distribution.
BJP MLA Kalicharan Saraf alleged that Udaipur MP's son was among other students who fraudulently gained post matric scholarship and sought a reply from the government.
Social Justice Minister Ashok Bairwa informed the House that 85 cases with regard to irregularities in scholarship distribution are lodged with anti-corruption bureau.
He said that action against 27 officials and staffers of the department was initiated after they were found guilty during an inquiry conducted by Finance Department.
Bairwa said that one officer was being protected by someone but the officer was arrested in January.
To this, the Opposition members demanded from the minister to disclose the name of the person who was shieling the officer.
However, he did not disclose the name despite repeated demand and said that online system has been introduced to check irregularity in the distribution of scholarship, if any.
On the allegations against the son of Udaipur MP, he said that the details furnished by him were correct but there was doubt about income certificate produced by him.
During Zero Hour, BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari raised issue of allotment of land for Journalism University and alleged that the government wants to allot the land in the premises of Sanskrit University inspite of the location identified on the outskirts of the city.
In his reply, Education Minister B K Sharma assured the House that not a single inch of the land of Sanskrit University will be allocated to any other university.
The minister said there was no such proposal with him and assured that if he received the proposal, he will not clear it.
