Over 150 fellows and associates of the Academy would deliberate for three days over a wide range of scientific topics and over 40 motivated teachers from different parts of the country have been invited to participate in the meet, the organisers of the meeting said.
While 21 scientific presentations would be made by fellows and associates of the Academy, two public lectures by former West Bengal Governor Gopalkrishna Gandhi and former Reserve Bank of India Governor D Subbarao are also in the offing.
The event is organised by Institute of Mathematical Sciences in association with Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, Central Leather Research Institute, Chennai Mathematical Institute, M S Swaminathan Research Foundation and Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research.
The Indian Academy of Sciences was founded by Sir C V Raman and registered as a society in 1934 with the aim of promoting the progress and upholding the cause of science, in both pure and applied branches.
