Nine gold biscuits worth Rs 29.38 lakh concealed inside the battery of a rechargeable table fan were seized by customs officials from a passenger who arrived here from Sharjah today.
The passenger, hailing from Koduvally in Kozhikode, had not declared any gold, customs officials said.
They said officers grew suspicious on finding the table fan unusually heavy and broke open the battery to find the gold biscuits, which were seized.
