The tanker, which was going to Ghaziabad from Meerut, overturned yesterday around 11 PM after the driver lost his control over the steering wheel. The vehicle tumbled on the side of the Delhi-Meerut road in front of ITS College, SHO Murdanagar Ummed Yadav said.
With the oil spilled on one side of the highway soon after the incident, seven motorcyclists were also injured as they lost balance due to slippery road, police said.
Police reached the spot and with the help of a crane pulled the tanker off the road to streamline the traffic.
The driver, his helper and other injured persons were rushed to nearby hospital, police added.
