The vehicle, enroute to Bandhikot area from Sandhikharka, met with the accident this afternoon. The jeep skidded off the road fell some 700 feet into a gorge, according to the police.
Officials launched a rescue operation which was hampered by steep terrain and thick forests, they said.
Six critically injured persons were admitted to a nearby hospital in Sandhikharka.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.
Twenty-seven people were killed in a bus accident at Birtadeurali village in Kavre district on August 15, while 22 killed when a Kathmandu-bound passenger bus plunged into the Trishuli river on August 26.
