A Bollywood based park, part of an integrated 30.5 million square feet theme park set to open this October on Dubai-Abu Dhabi border aims to provide an authentic starry experience to its visitors.
It is part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, which is poised to become the Middle East's largest integrated theme part resort.
Spread across 1.7 million square feet, it is said to be the first of its kind and aims at providing an authentic Bollywood experience to visitors.
Films in focus range from 'Mughal-e- Azam', 'Sholay' to 'Lagaan' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.'
The park also features an open-air venue 'Rangmanch', for village style song and dance performances.
Other attractions include 'Rajmahal, a 850-seat cinema theater that will screen a two hour-long Broadway show and 'Mumbai Express', a show which celebrates the essence of Mumbai in films, be it the local train or the Tapori culture.
"There is a zone under the Indian colonial theme where all the Indian themed restaurants are housed," Vinit Shah, Chief Destination Management Officer, Dubai Parks and Resorts, said during a presentation here today.
A Hollywood-inspired theme park featuring rides and attractions based on beloved characters from 'Shrek', 'Smurfs', 'Hunger Games', 'Ghostbusters' from big-name studios such as DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures Studios and Lionsgate will also open on the same day.
Other theme parks include Legoland and the Legoland Water park, designed specifically for children between 2 years and 12 years.
Taking inspiration from Orlando the makers aspire to be the best in the business.
"Orlando was a swamp, now it houses four Disney parks, three Seaworld Parks, 2 Universal Studios and a Legoland. We want the same for Dubai," Shah said.
