A portion of school building collapses, but no casualties

A portion of building of a private residential school at Kumarhatti in Solan district collapsed today but there was no report of any casualty as there was no one inside the building, a senior official said.
The multi-storied building of 'Sarvhitkari Shiksha Niketan'started developing cracks following which the teachers and staff shifted the students out of the building.
The school has a strength of 487 students.
Following the incident, the district administration has ordered closure of the school and hostel has also been vacated as a precautionary measure.
The Sub Divisional Magistrate of Solan has been asked to enquire into the matter.
