AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal said the rate of Rs 100 for per kilogram of onion was "not natural but artificially created".
"AAP demands immediate action from the Delhi government in the matter so that common man does not suffer from such high prices whose home budget has got disturbed because of it," he said.
The party said that there were reports that difference between wholesale and retail price of onions in Delhi was unusually high by Rs 30-40 compared to other parts of the country where it is only Rs 2-15.
AAP also alleged "inaction" by the Delhi government in providing relief to the common man and demanded that authorities immediately take steps to ease the situation.
Meanwhile, famous Sufi singer Rabbi Shergill today extended his support for AAP and promised to campaign for it.
