Aam Aadmi Party's student wing today submitted a memorandum to Union Law Minister Sadanand Gowda demanding that the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) be reconducted in wake of "discrepancies" over accuracy of questions.
"As you know that several discrepancies happened in the CLAT examination over accuracy of questions. Because of the anomalies thousands of students are suffering," the Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) said in its memorandum.
"We want the issue to be addressed as soon as possible as the students who appeared in the exam this year are demoralised with the developments and the callous attitude of the administration in solving their problems," it added.
The student group also urged the minister to appoint an investigating committee to resolve the matter.
"As the last date of admissions closes on July 4, the efforts would become infructuous if any delays are allowed," it added.
The test was conducted by Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU), Lucknow, for admission into 16 national law universities.
It has been pointed out that many questions were copied from previous year's Common Admission Test (CAT) for admission into post-graduate diploma course in IIMs and other management institutes. Students are up in arms against questions of PG level having been asked for entrance into an undergraduate course.
