"AAP has expelled Ashwini Upadhyay due to his repeated involvement in the anti-party activities and his failure to response to a show cause notice served to him," said a statement issued by the party.
Upadhyay, however, denied the party's claim of any notice being served on him.
"The party has expelled me today on the grounds that I did not respond to the show cause notice. I did not get any such intimation," said Upadhyay.
For the past few days Upadhyay has been attacking the party over several issues including the selections of the candidate and its funding.
He had also staged a protest outside Kejriwal house for his demand.
