AAP flays Harsimrat on remarks over Abohar killing

Aam Aadmi Party today dubbed as shameful Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal's remarks in Parliament terming the Abohar killing as a "gang war" and said that instead of providing justice to the victim's family, she was making excuses.
AAP in its statement here claimed that it was shameful that in place of providing justice to the 27-year-old victim's family, Kaur is making excuses and "lying" in the Parliament.
Kaur, yesterday, in Lok Sabha had accused Congress of politicising the issue of a "gang war" in which a Dalit man was killed and his limbs were chopped off. She said in the incident, a Jat Sikh was also dismembered but the opposition was not talking about it as Jat Sikhs were not its vote bank.

AAP further said yesterday Union Minster Vijay Sampla had told the media that the case had nothing to do with a gang war. He had also accused SAD leader Shiv Lal and his nephew, Amit Doda, of the brutal murder.
Sampla had also deemed the killing as "most brutal attack ever reported in Punjab", the party said.
The party demanded a clarification from the government on the statement of Sampla, a member of BJP, which is an alliance partner in Punjab, saying that he had also contradicted the version of police of their own government.

Criticising the reports of Shiv Lal Doda of being a member of SAD, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had claimed that he has nothing to do with the party.

AAP said that photos of Doda with Badal during Sangat Darshan programme and rallies unmask his "lies".
Waraich said it was "laughable" that the Congress called
the agitation off immediately after the ADCP's transfer.
"Was the real motive of Amarinder only to get the ADCP removed or fight against the drug menace in Punjab?" he asked.
The AAP leader said even earlier, Badal had "allowed" Congress legislators to stay put inside Punjab Assembly for two nights only to bring the party, which had "lost political relevance" and was "struggling for survival", back to limelight.
"Everyone knows that without the consent of Badal or the Speaker, no one can stay even for a minute inside the Assembly hall after the House is adjourned. Here also, all the adequate arrangements were made for the comfortable stay of the Congress MLAs, including media coverage," he alleged.

"Both the Akalis and the Congress are playing a friendly match and trying hard to hoodwink the people of Punjab, while struggling to prop each other up. However, their frustrated and desperate moves are taking them further into political oblivion," claimed the AAP leader.
Waraich alleged that the most recent instance of "Badal's benevolence" towards Amarinder was his decision to "quietly withdraw" the Amritsar Improvement Trust corruption case, which had cost the state exchequer a loss of nearly Rs 360 crore, after 10 years.
